She got sober. She got a divorce. She got help from survivors of sexual and physical abuse. And she began the process of finding a job after 15 years as a work-at-home mom.

At the suggestion of a friend, Maria decided to try 50 new things in her 50th year. And we're not talking little things here. No, we're talking big stuff like buying a motorcycle, spending several months in the poorest section of Nepal, and taking the stage and belting out a song. (Maria is a "terrible" singer who can't carry a tune.)
